Various attempts at changing Rastamouse in some way...

Cartoonizing in Illustrator (first attempts, possibly only attempts..)

My first attempt at turning the character zooma into a cartoonised weed smoker. Very basic but i needed to start somwhere...
Zooma having a joint
I wanted the feel of a back-alley drug dealing taking place.

Music Video (draft)

This is my first attempt at making a music video. I will fine edit this and hopefully get the rhythm apparent through the edit.

I have tried to put many Rastamouse pictures together and then using Photoshop merge them with some rastafarian art. This first one didn't go so well as I made the Rastamouse images too small and you have to zoom in to even notice.

This picture was much more successful for me and the merging was quite smooth, I had to research how to do all of this as This is my first time using Photoshop as it wasn't a requirement at college. This has been the most challenging thing I have done this year and I hope to learn a lot more as it is quite fun once you get the hang of it. In this picture I particularly like the green, yellow and black flowing down Bob Marley's face as this is a representation of the Jamaican flag as he is a representation of rastafarian culture.

Newspaper Front cover
"The country was in shock yesterday evening when public hero but wanted vigilante Rasta mouse was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Rasta mouse, part of the South London "Easy Crew" gang was arrested on leaving his Newham flat at 4.45pm yesterday. After a search of the flat, an assortment of cheese related paraphernalia was found, on the arrival of the forensic team a secret compartment in the downstairs bathroom was found containing up to £25 pounds worth of cheese and all the missing items reported by Prime Minister Wensleydale. Rasta mouse, real name...continued on page 4"

What I set out to do...

Using images from Rastamouse I will create a photoshop image that shows drug use. The characters use of cheese in the children's TV show seems to refer to Cannabis or perhaps stronger drugs like Cocaine. I will play on this by editing 1 image representing The easy crew partaking in some "cheese".

Secondly I will attempt to recreate the audio in a few of the scenes to take out the slang and have the characters speaking in a upper-class drawl. Many parents have complained to the BBC, saying that they feel the use of slang in Rastamouse is inappropriate for young children.

The second idea has changed I have decided to make a Music video Using footage from the first series of Rastamouse!

Also thinking of turning many pictures into on larger picture using Photoshop, dont know what thats called though...
